Aberdeen appoint Neil Warnock as interim manager | JOF044I | 2024-02-06 16:08:01
Neil Warnock has been appointed Aberdeen's interim manager for the rest of the season.
The Dons have moved shortly to safe the 75-year-old following the sacking of Barry Robson final week.
Warnock has spent his managerial career in England and Wales, most notably with Sheffield United, Crystal Palace, Queens Park Rangers and Cardiff City.
Warnock, who has retired twice in his profession, returned to administration 12 months in the past to save lots of Huddersfield Town from relegation within the Championship however he stepped down in September.
And Warnock has taken on another new problem, with eighth-placed Aberdeen.
'I'm really wanting forward to the problem,' stated Warnock.
"I've made no secret of the very fact I've all the time needed to handle in Scotland so once I spoke to Dave [Cormack, chairman] and Alan [Burrows, chief executive] they usually requested me to assist out it simply felt like the suitable opportunity.
'By all accounts there's a good group of lads here and it's my job now to get the most effective out of them.
'Aberdeen is an enormous club with clear ambition and I'm hoping that in my time right here the supporters will get behind the workforce and I can put a smile on their faces.'
