Baumgartner had posted several videos to Instagram stories of himself paragliding in Italy in the week leading up to his death. In an eerie final post shared Thursday, he snapped a photo of a windsock with the caption "too much wind."

Born April 20, 1969, in Salzburg, Austria, Baumgartner established himself as a skilled and fearless skydiver, base jumper, daredevil and much more. On Oct. 14, 2012, he did what no one else had ever attempted.

He fell from space.

Baumgartner set three world records, including the highest free fall and highest crewed balloon flight. And he became the first person to travel faster than the speed of sound during a free fall when he took a giant helium balloon over New Mexico and jumped from an altitude of 127,852 feet.

He reached speeds of 843.6 mph, or the equivalent of Mach 1.25, 1.25 times the speed of sound, The reported at the time. He was quite literally supersonic.

According to Baumgartner's bio on RedBull's website, he broke 14 world records, including the lowest base jump, which he accomplished in 2011 when he leaped from the hand of the Christ the Redeemer statue in Brazil.

Heavy rain hits Gulf Coast as slow-moving storms linger across the region

-

 • Heavy rain hits Gulf Coast as slow-moving storms linger across the region

CNN Meteorologists Briana Waxman, Mary GilbertJuly 18, 2025 at 4:22 AM

A sprawling area of storms infused with tropical moisture is dropping heavy rain along the Gulf Coast and could produce significant flash flooding into the weekend.

The threat Friday is not as bad as previously expected, thanks to the weakening tropical disturbance. But localized flash flooding – especially in parts of Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida – remains possible, particularly where storms repeatedly track over the same saturated areas.

A Level 2 of 4 risk of flooding rainfall is in place through Saturday morning along the Gulf Coast from east Texas to the west Florida panhandle – including New Orleans; Mobile, Alabama; and Gulfport, Mississippi. Heavy storms could be long-lasting, tracking over the same areas repeatedly and soaking the same spots with several inches of rain.

This continuing flood threat is just the latest in what has been a summer full of deadly and devastating floods.

Multiple flash flood warnings were in effect across different parts of southern Louisiana late Thursday, including St. John The Baptist Parish and St. Charles Parish. Low-lying bayou communities in southern Louisiana are especially prone to flooding, where already saturated soils and poor drainage can quickly turn heavy rain into high water.

The National Weather Service in New Orleans reported several flooded streets in LaPlace, Destrehan, New Sarpy and Luling, where houses were taking in water.

Some localized areas in southeastern Louisiana experienced rainfall rates of 2 to 5 inches per hour and received as much as 9 inches of rain Thursday, according to the weather service office in Lake Charles.

In New Orleans, officials opened several sandbag distribution sites Wednesday ahead of the heaviest rain, according to a notification from the city. All city buildings were closed to the public Thursday due to the weather threat. "With a significant decrease in weather impacts, City buildings will reopen to the public tomorrow … and return to normal operations," said city officials.

Earlier in the week, it looked like this stormy weather would have a decent chance of becoming at least a tropical depression with plenty of very warm water in the Gulf, which would provide fuel for development. Despite moving over that water, the storms have so far been ripped apart by hostile upper-level winds, leaving it unlikely to claim Dexter, the next name on the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season list.

Monday into Tuesday, the same storm cluster traveled across the Florida peninsula, dropping nearly a foot of rain in the Tampa area. This amount of rain in a short time overwhelmed even Florida's resilient, sandy soil, causing flooding in Brevard County, according to the National Weather Service's Tampa Bay office.

Daytona Beach was drenched with 2.25 inches of rain on Tuesday, breaking its previous daily record of 2 inches set on July 15, 1935.

Judge tosses lawsuit seeking to shield names of FBI agents on Capitol riot probe

-

 • Judge tosses lawsuit seeking to shield names of FBI agents on Capitol riot probe

Andrew GoudswardJuly 17, 2025 at 4:59 PM

By Andrew Goudsward

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -A U.S. judge on Thursday dismissed lawsuits brought by FBI agents seeking to prevent President Donald Trump's administration from publicly identifying those who worked on the investigation into the January 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol by Trump supporters.

U.S. District Judge Jia Cobb in Washington found that the risk of Justice Department leadership disclosing the names of FBI agents is "too speculative" to allow them to sue.

"They do not plausibly allege that Defendants are about to engage in any of the conduct agents are worried about," Cobb wrote in her ruling, which granted the Trump administration's bid to dismiss the cases.

The FBI Agents Association, a plaintiff in one of the lawsuits, said it was disappointed in the ruling and reviewing its legal options.

"Agent safety has and will always be our paramount concern. We filed this case to support and protect the dedicated FBI agents and employees who were assigned to investigations related to activities on January 6, 2021," the group said in a statement.

A spokesperson for the Justice Department did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

The Justice Department has said it is conducting an internal review of potential misconduct in the probe, which led to more than 1,500 criminal cases against Trump supporters accused of storming the Capitol in a failed attempt to stop certification of his 2020 election loss.

Justice Department officials have not ruled out publicly naming agents, but have said they have no immediate plans to do so.

Two groups of FBI agents anonymously sued in February after Justice Department leadership demanded the FBI turn over a list of more than 5,000 agents who were involved in the investigation, an order FBI leadership at the time initially resisted.

The legal dispute reflected the ongoing tensions within the Justice Department as Trump officials expelled dozens of staffers involved in investigations condemned by Trump.

Lawyers for the agents argued their identities were at risk of being shared with the White House and wider public, citing Trump's decision to pardon nearly all charged in the Capitol attack and vows from top administration officials to expose past "weaponization" in the federal government against Trump and his supporters.

They argued that disclosure of the list would jeopardize their safety, making them potential targets of former January 6 defendants they investigated, and would violate a federal privacy law as well as protections under the U.S. Constitution.

Justice Department officials have said that agents who were assigned cases and followed orders will not be disciplined. Department lawyers argued the agents had not produced sufficient evidence that their names were at risk of being disclosed.

Why has Japan set up a task force to deal with foreigners?

-

 • Why has Japan set up a task force to deal with foreigners?

Chris Lau, Mai Takiguchi and Soyon Nishioka, CNNJuly 17, 2025 at 7:09 PM

People cross the iconic Shibuya crossroad on June 17, 2025, in Tokyo, Japan. - David Mareuil/Anadolu/Getty Images

Japan has worked hard to attract foreigners to boost its sluggish economy but now the perception there are too many has prompted the creation of a new task force, as competition for votes heats up ahead of Sunday's national election.

The issue is on the political agenda ahead of the upper house election, in part because of a fringe party promoting "Japanese first" policies, in a nod to the nativist rhetoric of US President Donald Trump.

Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba launched the task force – formally named the Office for the Promotion of a Society of Harmonious Coexistence with Foreign Nationals – on Tuesday, citing "crimes or nuisance behaviors committed by some foreign nationals," as well as "inappropriate use of various" government systems.

The world's fourth-largest economy has a long history of strict immigration policies, and a strong cultural strain of isolationism.

But with a rapidly aging population and plunging birth rates, Japan has been gradually opening up to foreign workers and seeking more international tourists.

Pulling up the drawbridge could exacerbate the demographic crisis and jeopardize the tourism industry, experts warn.

Here is what we know about the task force and why foreigners have become an election issue:

What will the task force do?

Ishiba described the new office as a "command center" coordinating policies for both Japanese citizens and foreigners. Among the areas it will cover are immigration, land acquisitions by foreigners, and unpaid social insurance, Ishiba added.

He pledged to "take strict action against those who do not follow the rules."

There have been no more concrete details, but the government said last month it plans to revise policies to ban tourists and foreign residents with unpaid medical bills from getting a visa or returning to the country.

Tourists and pedestrians fill the streets of Shibuya on June 29, 2025 in Tokyo, Japan. - Buddhika Weerasinghe/Getty ImagesWhy are Japanese people frustrated?

Though Japan's population of foreign residents has jumped from 2.23 million to 3.77 million over the past decade, they still only account for 3% of the total population of more than 120 million people.

Much more notable is a surge in tourism over the past few years, especially since the Covid-19 pandemic.

A record 21.5 million foreign tourists visited Japan in the first half of this year, according to the Japan National Tourism Organization. Last year, Japan was the world's 8th most-visited country by tourists, according to UN Tourism, and the top in Asia.

The influx has irritated many residents, whose lives have been disrupted by tourists flocking to their neighborhoods for sightseeing, shopping or a scenic photo opportunity.

It prompted authorities to temporarily block a popular view of Mount Fuji from a convenience store due to a surge in residents' complaints of overcrowding, and a hot spring resort area to warn against low water levels as visitors demanded private baths.

Some blame tourists for triggering inflation and contributing to shortages of certain supplies, including rice, Japan's most cherished staple.

Others take issue with foreign residents reportedly evading public health insurance and investors snatching up properties in the country and pushing up prices.

A retiree in Tokyo who used to work for a trading company told CNN that he believed foreign workers were taking Japanese people's jobs.

"They came to Japan because they couldn't make a living in their countries," said the 78-year-old man, who asked to remain anonymous due to the sensitive nature of the discussion.

"Because the cultures are different, it is impossible to live together."

Office worker Kouyama Nanami, 23, said she read on the news that a lot of welfare assistance goes to non-Japanese residents.

"I think the aids haven't been prioritized for Japanese people," she said.

Is the frustration fair?

Shunsuke Tanabe, a sociology professor at Waseda University in Tokyo, said many of the negative beliefs around migration – such as the idea of rising crime – stem from falsehoods and misleading claims from the campaign trail.

"There are visibly more foreigners around; they start to assume that public safety must be getting worse, too," he told CNN.

"As a result, negative campaigns spread on social media resonate with many, leading them to think that parties promising to 'protect' society from these imagined threats are the better choice," he added.

A tourist takes a photograph outside Yasaka Shrine at dusk on August 8, 2024 in Kyoto, Japan. - Tomohiro Ohsumi/Getty Images

He noted that crime in Japan has declined in the past 20 years, despite an uptick in tourists and foreign residents. "There is virtually no difference between Japanese nationals and foreign nationals in terms of crime rates," he said.

In 2023, 9,726 foreigners were arrested for alleged crimes, accounting for 5.3% of total people arrested, according to a white paper by the Ministry of Justice. The figure includes both tourists and foreign residents.

Why is this an issue now?

Ishiba's hand has been forced as the election campaign, entering its final stretch, has focused on anger over irresponsible foreign citizens and unruly tourists, according to political pundits.

Sanseito, a minor right-wing party that has been rallying against immigrants and advancing "Japanese first" policies, has been gaining traction and media coverage.

The upstart party is far from being able to compete for a majority, but is projected to win 10 to 15 seats, which could chip away at the majority of Ishiba's Liberal Democratic Party (LDP).

The LDP and its coalition partner Komeito last year lost their majority in the lower house, for the first time in 15 years. Ishiba could face further pressure to step down if they lose the upper house this weekend.

"Anti-immigration parties such as the Sanseito are using this as an opportunity to take advantage of public misconceptions, public fears about immigration and about foreigners to take away votes from the LDP," said Jeffrey Hall, a Japanese studies lecturer at Kanda University of International Studies in Chiba.

Travelers at Haneda Airport, one of Japan's busiest air traffic hubs. - Shoko Takayasu/Bloomberg/Getty Images

While out campaigning Sunday, Sanseito Secretary General Sohei Kamiya said his party was "simply saying it's unreasonable to spend public money to hire foreigners or hand over profitable businesses" to foreigners.

"This is not discrimination or hate speech," he said.

Hall said setting up the new office could help the LDP demonstrate "they're being tough on the issue," though there will be a price to pay.

"If Japan becomes a society that strictly monitors foreigners to the point where they feel unwelcome, it could have a damaging effect on the ability of businesses to get the foreign workers they need," Hall said.

Why does Japan need foreign workers?

The country's birth rate plunged to another record low of 1.15 in 2024, well below the 2.1 needed to keep a population stable in the absence of immigration, meaning that the working population will continue to shrink in decades to come. This is worsening the outlook for a Japanese economy that has already suffered stagnation since the early 1990s.

To attract foreign workers, the government has been easing requirements for visas and trying to improve conditions.

Parents hold their children before the start of their "crying baby sumo" match at the Sensoji temple in Tokyo on April 26, 2025. - Philip Fong/AFP/Getty Images

The number of foreign employees hit a record high of 2.3 million last October, according to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare. The government has been granting "specific skilled workers" visas to work in a range of industries from nursing and hospitality to construction and aviation, the Foreign Ministry's website shows.

During Tuesday's announcement, Ishiba acknowledged the importance of Japan remaining open-minded.

"As Japan faces the challenges of a declining birthrate and aging population, it is essential for us to incorporate the vitality of the international community, through the acceptance of a certain number of foreign workers and the expansion of inbound tourism, to ensure a smooth transition to a growth-oriented economy," he said.

CNN's Hanako Montgomery and Junko Ogura contributed reporting.

MLB playoffs 2025: Why All-Stars think their teams will win in 'spicy' NL race

-

 • MLB playoffs 2025: Why All-Stars think their teams will win in 'spicy' NL race

Gabe Lacques, USA TODAYJuly 18, 2025 at 3:05 AM

ATLANTA — In this era of Major League Baseball's expanded playoff field, one concept rings even truer: If you're over .500, you've got a chance.

Yet in the National League, nine teams can make that claim, more than double the four American League squads taking that distinction into the symbolic start of the second half.

The next two-plus months will shake things out, and with the division leads frontrunners Philadelphia (a half-game), Chicago (one game) and Los Angeles (5 ½ games) hold, nothing's guaranteed.

"It's a spicy division this year, that's for sure," says Milwaukee Brewers closer Trevor Megill of the NL Central, where his club lurks a game behind the Cubs. "The Cubs have a fantastic product out on the field this year and so do some other teams in our division.

"It's going to come down to that last game."

Slim as some margins are, we'll give those leaders a pass and break down the half-dozen clubs aiming to run them down – or at least fight off the others for one of three wild-card spots:

Milwaukee Brewers: Grit and grind

Standing: 56-40, one game behind Chicago in NL Central, four-game lead for wild card spot.

What's their deal?: They've once again outkicked expectations, with manager Pat Murphy guiding a wild mix of youth and veterans and All-Star pitcher Freddy Peralta helming a rotation that has unleashed touted rookie Jacob Misiorowski for five starts – with the baseball world suddenly captivated by what may come next.

Before the trade deadline: Nine of 12 games against playoff contenders Seattle, the Los Angeles Dodgers and, from July 28-30, the first-place Cubs.

Why the Brewers?: "The way the Brewers run themselves and the research they do on people, personalities - that goes into a lot of what we're seeing right now. Power of friendship, right? We've got a college-minded coach at the helm and I think a lot of our guys are just that gritty, tough, and we go and get after it. I think that's our biggest strength: A lot of guys that like each other and a lot of guys willing to put their body on the line every night." - Megill

New York Mets: Help has arrived

Kodai Senga returned from injury right before the All-Star break.

Standing: 55-42, half-game behind Philadelphia in NL East, 2 ½-game lead for wild card spot.

What's their deal?: An encouraging July got even brighter when injured pitchers Sean Manaea and Kodai Senga made their returns in their final series of the first half, with Senga pitching four scoreless innings at Kansas City. Juan Soto has shaken the new-team blues, with 12 homers and a .312/.450/.642 line in his last 35 games after going .229/.367/.430 in his first 62.

Before the trade deadline: Nine of 12 games against NL contenders Cincinnati, San Francisco and San Diego.

Why the Mets?: "We've got talent, we've got grit, we've got chemistry – those are all things you need to win ballgames. We've shown some obviously really great moments of consistency. But we haven't been perfect. We've had some injuries, but we're getting a ton of guys back. When you combine talent and attention to detail and grit, it makes for a winning ballclub." – Pete Alonso

San Diego Padres: A road hurdle ahead

Standing: 52-44, 5 ½ games behind Los Angeles in NL West, half-game lead for wild card spot.

What's their deal?: Injuries have slowed them much of the year, with sophomore Jackson Merrill struggling after a pair of IL trips, pitcher Yu Darvish making his season debut just before the All-Star break and Michael King out until August with shoulder irritation. Manny Machado is playing like an MVP. The bullpen produced three All-Stars.

Before the trade deadline: A 10-game road trip to Washington, Miami and St. Louis, followed by a three-game showdown against the Mets.

Why the Padres?: "We have the confidence and we're going to have a good second half. We're motivated to make the playoffs." – Robert Suárez

San Francisco Giants: Time to get offensive

Standing: 52-45, six games behind Los Angeles in NL West, half-game out of wild card spot.

What's their deal?: It's torture all over again, as the pitching staff's 3.50 ERA ranks third in the majors but batters rank 26th with a .678 OPS, stirring memories of their 2010 champions' knack for winning close games. Rafael Devers has two homers and a .656 OPS in 25 games as a Giant, and along with Willy Adames must adjust from hitter-friendly climes to Oracle Park's batter-killing conditions, though both will benefit from Matt Chapman's return.

Before the trade deadline: A six-game trip to Toronto and Atlanta and three at home against Pittsburgh.

Why the Giants?: "We're getting Willy going, we got Chappy back, and if we can get Raffy going as well, that's great. Once we get our hitters going, we're going to be pretty hot. We play the most one-run games in baseball and I think that sets us up for success in the playoffs. There's a lot of close games. Our pitchers and our hitters are comfortable in those situations." – Robbie Ray

St. Louis Cardinals: Might as well win the whole thing

Standing: 51-46, 6 ½ games behind Chicago in NL Central, 1 ½ games out of wild card spot.

What's their deal?: Written off for 2025 after a much-ballyhooed franchise "reset" and a winter spent failing to trade Nolan Arenado, the Cardinals that remained comprised a pretty good squad. Sonny Gray has pitched like an ace, Brendan Donovan – a 3-WAR player in the first half – has led their band of versatile position player pieces and DH Ivan Herrera has returned from injury after posting a .924 OPS in 43 games.

Before the trade deadline: A six-game trip to Colorado and Arizona followed by a big four-game set at home against San Diego. Loser sells to the winner?

Why the Cardinals?: "I think it's a group that's not afraid of anything. People learning how to go about their business in the big leagues and learning about who they are and that's what makes us scary. We just did all the things we had harped on in spring training: Taking care of the baseball, having quality at-bats, sticking to a team approach while also sticking to our individual approaches. I think our expectations were completely different than the ones set on us." – Donovan

Cincinnati Reds: Youth movement, veteran guide

Standing: 50-47, 7 ½ games behind Chicago in NL Central, 2 ½ games out of wild card berth.

What's their deal?: The rotation ranks sixth in the NL with a 3.88 ERA but has had injury setbacks. All-Star Elly De La Cruz racked up 3.6 WAR while hitting 18 homers with 25 steals. Emilio Pagan solidified the closer role, posting 20 saves by the break. Manager Terry Francona just notched his 2,000th career win.

Before the trade deadline: A six-game trip to the Mets and Nationals, followed by three with Tampa Bay.

Why the Reds?: "We're a young team. I think we're getting closer to finding our true identity. I truly believe we have a good young core and have a good set of veterans to help the younger players. And our manager. I think that was a really good move for us. Brings in that calmness with firmness. I think we're going to continue to work, continue to show up and the results will show." - Abbott

Manny Pacquiao returns to ring, rekindles legendary tandem with Freddie Roach

-

 • Manny Pacquiao returns to ring, rekindles legendary tandem with Freddie Roach

Josh Peter, USA TODAYJuly 18, 2025 at 3:33 AM

LOS ANGELES – Manny Pacquiao stood near a thin, rectangular crate almost as tall as the legendary, 5-5 1/2 Filipino boxer.

It was a week before he was set to return to the boxing ring at 46 against reigning WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios in Las Vegas on Saturday, July 19.

Inside the Wild Card boxing gym, where Pacquiao has trained for virtually every fight of his storied career, someone tore away construction paper from the thin crate and revealed the contents.

It was a framed photo of Pacquiao standing next to his longtime trainer, Freddie Roach.

Pacquiao beamed, and with surprise said, "For me?" According to the photographer, Miguel Salazar, the boxer had been asking for a copy of the photo for more than a year. When Pacquiao realized it was for him, he embraced Roach.

Roach has joked that he and Pacquiao have been together longer than most married couples. Thirty years and counting.

"Teamwork,'' Pacquiao explained of the relationship. "Respect.''

Now, the boxer and trainer are trying to pull off something unprecedented.

On Saturday, Pacquiao (62-8-2, 39 KOs) can become the first fighter to win a world title after being inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame.

Pacquiao, 46, was inducted in June. Roach, 65, was inducted in 2012. But the venerated boxer and trainer will head to the fight as underdogs – and for good reason.

Pacquiao, the only boxer to win titles in eight divisions, is 16 years older than Barrios, 30, and has not fought professionally in almost four years. He lost that bout to Yordenis Ugas by unanimous decision, and a year ago, he looked unimpressive during an exhibition against kickboxer named Rukiya Anpo.

Roach has lived with Parkinson's disease for almost 40 years, and his symptoms have worsened to the point where Pacquiao fears hitting Roach full force when he works the mitts, a staple of training for boxers.

Yet, with uncharted territory looming, Pacquiao and Roach stand side-by-side.

Boxing schedule: Manny Pacquiao vs. Mario Barrios: Full card, how to watch and stream

Look who's here: Roach rekindles training

In mid-May and on short notice, Pacquiao and a small entourage walked into Wild Card, Roach's gym, according to Sean Gibbons, Pacquiao's manager.

Video captured Pacquiao embracing Roach and holding on even when a smiling Roach tried to let go. Roach said he knew Pacquiao had agreed to fight Barrios but was surprised when Pacquiao said he wanted to hit the padded mitts – a staple for boxers – and their work began.

The first time in four years.

"Everyone was just kind of quiet and emotional,'' Marie Spivey, Roach's wife, told USA TODAY Sports. "It was like everyone was on the verge of tears.''

It's a relationship that has endured strain.

In 2017, after Pacquiao lost to Australian Jeff Horn by unanimous decision, Roach suggested Pacquiao, then 38, should consider retirement.

Instead, Pacquiao left Roach.

Before his next fight, Pacquiao trained with longtime friend and assistant trainer Buboy Fernandez. Roach was hurt because he learned of Pacquiao's decision not from the boxer but from media reports, according to his wife, Spivey.

"And Freddy's feelings, they don't get hurt like that because he'll be the first one to say, fighters come and go,'' Spivey said. "With Manny, it was different.''

Fighting without Roach for the first time since his pro debut in 1995, Pacquiao beat Lucas Matthysse by seventh-round TKO. Then, he returned to Wild Card, resumed his work with Roach and the duo was clicking again.

At 40, Pacquiao beat Adrien Broner by unanimous decision. Later that year, Pacquiao fought Keith Thurman, then the reigning WBA super welterweight champion, and at 40 became the oldest boxer to win a welterweight world title.

But the loss to Ugas in 2021 sent Pacquiao into retirement and back to the Philippines, where he'd won a Senate seat in 2016. He launched a campaign for the presidency two months later after losing to Ugas, and he placed third in the 2022 election. In May, Pacquiao ran for Senate again and finished well out of the running for one of 12 spots.

Then it was back to Wild Card. And on to uncharted territory.

Predictions: Manny Pacquiao vs. Mario Barrios: Who has edge, from boxer who fought both

Pacquiao: A better person when he's boxing

After working together for two weeks starting in May, Roach said, it became clear he'd be training Pacquiao for the Barrios fight. Less clear was how, eight years after suggesting Pacquiao should consider retiring, Roach agreed to train a 46-year-old boxer who has not fought in four years.

"I talked to his wife, and his wife was always against him fighting," Roach said. "This is the first time ever that she told me she wanted him to fight. Very badly.''

"'He's a better person (when he's boxing),'" Roach said Pacquiao's wife told him.

Gibbons, Pacquiao's manager, cited Al Haymon, founder of Premier Boxing Champions.

"All this stuff going on in boxing, you see all these big fights,'' Gibbons said. "You see all this money thrown around. Only one guy stepped up with an offer again, and that was Al Haymon. ...''

Haymon began lining up fights for Pacquiao after the loss to Horn, and Gibbons speculated how working with Haymon for his whole career would have impacted the boxer.

"He probably wouldn't be fighting because he wouldn't need to,'' Gibbons said. "But I'm saying he needs to. He wants to.''

Ultimately, Pacquiao said, the decision was up to him.

"One thing that I remember (Roach) told me is you can manage your body and (determine) if you can still fight or not,'' Pacquiao said.

On Wednesday, Pacquiao visited the Raiders' facility near Las Vegas. Roach was there too. They'll be together yet again Saturday night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, where Pacquiao will be fighting for the 16th time, and Roach again in his corner.

That's how it'll end, too -- regardless of how the fight ends.
