An Oklahoma man is behind bars after killing his pregnant girlfriend and their unborn child, Sooner State law enforcement says.
Austin Morrison, 28, stands accused of two counts of first-degree murder over the deaths of 28-year-old Stephanie Strock and her child, according to the Heavener Police Department.
The incident occurred Oct. 26 at a home on West Avenue D in Heavener — a small town near the Arkansas border.

Police went to the house for a welfare check and found the victim dead inside, according to a press release issued by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
Authorities said Strock's injuries were "consistent with homicide." Investigators later learned the victim had been pregnant at the time she was killed, according to the press release.
Citing "information and evidence gathered from the scene," law enforcement determined Morrison was with Strock earlier that evening "and physically assaulted her."
The victim was remembered fondly in her obituary.
"She found joy in fishing and expressed her creativity through Diamond Dots Art Work," the obituary reads. "Her love for the outdoors reflected her vibrant spirit. Stephanie will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her."
After identifying Morrison as a suspect, agents found him walking near the residence and promptly arrested him, according to a report by Pittsburg, Kansas-based CBS affiliate KOAM.
Details about the deaths are scarce.
Authorities did not say how the victim was killed. Nor did they offer a motive for the alleged killing.
The defendant is currently detained in the Leflore County Detention Center. Bond has yet to be set in the case.
