The couple's first wedding took place on Sept. 18 in Ischia, Italy, with Venus noting to the publication that, "We had this dream to do our wedding in Italy, but we didn't have enough time to do the paperwork — because I'm a foreigner, it can take about eight months. As a result of Venus' Florida roots, the duo decided on a second ceremony in Palm Beach, Fla. The event, which was planned by Jennifer Zabinski of JZ Events — the same company that worked on her sister Serena Williams' wedding in 2017 — featured a week full of festivities leading up to the big day.

"They always say weddings go so fast, and they do," Venus shared with the magazine. "We started on Monday. Serena gave us this gift of a beautiful yacht, and she arranged all the food, everything. We had 10 to 12 of our closest family and friends who were in town on the boat, and we were singing, dancing, gossiping, and just enjoying each other."

The week's events leading up to the ceremony included a bridal shower and a romantic dinner at the Miami members' club Sopra, with Venus ultimately marrying Preti in a courthouse wedding on Dec. 19 as she wore a dress designed by Morilee New York, according toVogue.

"For me, the courthouse ceremony was very unique, emotional, and deep," Preti told the publication of his nuptials with Venus. "It was the second-best day of my life." (After the wedding itself, of course.)

During the main wedding ceremony, which took place after the courthouse nuptials, Preti walked out with his mom to "I'll Be There" by the Jackson 5, which, to him, "represented what my mother is to Venus," according toVogue. "No matter what, she'll be there."

As for Venus, she walked out to "Ovunque Sarai" by Irama, which she told the publication "reminds me of my grandma, who passed during COVID."

After reading their self-written vows, the couple recessed to "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" by Stevie Wonder and subsequently danced to "I Only Have Eyes for You" by the Flamingos upon entering their main wedding reception. The couple and their guests then capped off the loving occasion with an after-party at Sophia's Hobe Sound in Hobe Sound, Fla.
