President Donald Trump is calling out "Late Night" host Seth Meyers for mocking him.
In a lengthy Truth Social post shared on Saturday, Nov. 1, Trump called Meyers "the least talented person to 'perform' live in the history of television" in response to the comedian mocking his recent trip to Asia. "In fact, he may be the WORST to perform, live or otherwise," he added.
Trump wrote on Truth Social that he had watched Meyers' show "the other night for the first time in years" and that "in it he talked endlessly about electric catapults on aircraft carriers, which I complain about as not being as good as much less expensive steam catapults."
"Forget the government shutdown, it's catapult time!" read the caption for Meyers' late-night show on Instagram, along with a video of the host's comments. "I mean, just listen to him deliver this expert treatise on − wait, no, this can't be right, catapults?"
Trump wants Seth Meyers fired. The 'Late Night' host isn't going down without a fight

During Trump's recent trip, he addressed troops in Japan, and he declared he would issue an executive order to restore the use of steam-powered catapults on aircraft carriers. "I know a lot about these ships … I want to know (about) catapults, which is better, the electric or the steam? They're spending billions of dollars to build stupid electric …" Trump went on.
"Guy spends more time thinking about catapults than Wile E. Coyote," Meyers joked on his show. "Next, he's gonna start complaining about how our troops don't tie themselves to rockets anymore."
"We used to strap our soldiers to the rockets, and they loved it," Meyers said, mocking Trump's voice. "But then everything got woke, and they said you can't tie a person to a rocket, but we miss those days and we're bringing them back."

At a later point in the episode, Meyers said, "Experts say it would cost billions to go back to the old system, but Trump thinks he knows more about aviation than everyone else because he dances like one of those guys that holds the signaling sticks on the runway."
But Trump didn't find Meyers' impersonation of him, nor his comments, funny at all. "On and on he went, a truly deranged lunatic," Trump wrote on Truth Social. "Why does NBC waste its time and money on a guy like this???"
He concluded his comments writing that Meyers had "no talent," that his show had "no ratings" and that he was "100% anti-Trump, which is probably illegal."
Trump's Nov. 1 comments about Meyers aren't the first time he's slammed the comedian. In August, when the president learned that NBC had renewed Meyers' contract, Trump went on about his ratings, talent, intelligence, and said Meyers had "the personality of an insecure child."
But Meyers, like many other late-night hosts, including Jimmy Kimmel and Jon Stewart, has not shied away from criticizing Trump.
