EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Green Bay Packer star running back Josh Jacobs was ruled out Sunday against the New York Giants with a knee injury.
Jacobs went to the locker room in the second quarter, joining quarterback Jordan Love, who had his shoulder looked at after a hit in the first half. With 3:20 left in the first quarter, Love avoided an attempted sack and scrambled 4 yards toward the right sideline. Giants linebacker Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles hit Love's left shoulder hard.
An official flagged Love for evaluation. Backup quarterback Malik Willis went into the game as Love began testing his shoulder on the sideline, a series of circles leading to a visit from the blue medical tent.
Before the quarter was over, Love jogged around the perimeter of the field toward the locker room for further evaluation.
He was ruled questionable to return with a left shoulder injury.
Love's evaluation did not sideline him long. By the following drive, with 12:27 to play in the second quarter, Love had returned to the field for the next drive.
The Packers scored during Love's evaluation, Willis finding receiver Christian Watson for a touchdown with 13:54 to play in the second quarter.
