On Nov. 19, multiple outlets reported that King had lost temporary custody of her children in recent months, and a source tells PEOPLE that the removal came sometime in late October, around Halloween.

PEOPLE has reached out to King and Edmonds for comment on the matter.

Following the removal of the children from her custody, King was granted supervised visitation of their kids, while Edmonds received sole physical custody, according toUs Weekly, which was first to report the news. The decision is temporary and a hearing will be held to determine if the custody arrangement will become permanent.

"She stayed at my house. I took care of her when she got her boob and her nose done. And I can tell you, she loves those babies," Dodd said in the video. "She loves those kids. And I know for a fact she's a good mother. She is an excellent mother."

King and Edmonds weremarriedfor five years before they split in 2019, and their divorce was finalized two years later in 2021. They share 8-year-old daughter Aspen and 7-year-old twins Hart and Hayes.

Jim and wife Kortnie Edmonds — who firstwent public with their relationshipin April 2020and got engagedin July 2021 —married in September 2022.

In recent months, longstandingtensionbetween King and Edmonds have intensified, escalatinginto a September altercation involving King, Edmonds' current wife, Kortnie, and police. In bodycam footage recorded by the Frontenac Police Department and obtained byUs Weekly, King can be seen describing Edmonds as "emotionally abusive" during a confrontation at the sports broadcaster's Missouri home on May 1.

Kortnie, 40, called 911 after a dispute with King, alleging that the former reality star had entered the couple's residence without permission and was "causing a disturbance," according to the police report obtained by the outlet.

Following the altercation, a rep for Edmonds issued a statement to PEOPLE denying King's allegation.

"As usual, Meghan is telling tales. Her and Jim barely communicate, so if someone is emotionally abusing her it's not Jim. And she is not getting full custody; Jim is an active and present father to all his children," the rep shared at the time.
