Jacob Elordi gets candid about the time he nearly walked away from the spotlight.
Best known for Netflix's The Kissing Booth and Euphoria, the Australian actor was considered one of the hottest heartthrobs of his generation, appearing in back-to-back projects from rom-coms to dramas.
Additionally, his presence extends beyond film, as he thrives in the fashion scene, representing Cartier, Bottega Veneta, and TAG Heuer as their global ambassadors.
Despite his growing fame and success, he once felt exhausted and overwhelmed, questioning whether he could continue in the limelight.
According to him, there was a time when he experienced emotional burden and began to doubt his purpose as an actor.
"At that time in my life, I really wanted to hide," he told The Los Angeles Times, adding, "I really wanted to go away for a while. I was desperate to find some kind of normalcy and rebuild the way that I acted and how I approached making movies."
Thankfully, he was considered one of the lead stars of Guillermo del Toro's movie Frankenstein. He channeled the indescribable feeling as an escape and transformation he was craving, as well as coping with the pressure of being "Jacob Elordi."

"And when the film came along, I remember being like, 'Ugh, I really wanted to go away right now.' And I realized immediately the Creature was where I was supposed to go away to. I was supposed to go into that mask of freedom," he furthered.
On the other hand, Elordi mentioned that the "grueling" experience he had while filming The Narrow Road to the Deep North helped him fully embody his character in Frankenstein.
"My brain was kind of all over the place," the actor recalled. "I had these moments of great anguish at around 3 a.m in the morning. I'd wake and my body was in such pain."
At the time, he also lost a substantial amount of weight for Prime Video's miniseries.
Where to Watch Frankenstein?
The 28-year-old portrayed the Creature, the being created by the scientist Victor Frankenstein.
Joining him are Oscar Isaac as the arrogant scientist, Mia Goth as Elizabeth Lavenza, the orphan adopted by the Frankensteins, who eventually became a wife to Victor.
In addition to the trio, Frankenstein also includes Christoph Waltz, Ralph Ineson, Felix Kammerer, Charles Dance and more as cast members.
The science fiction film officially premieres on Oct. 17 in selected theaters in the United States.
Fans can catch Frankenstein on Netflix starting Nov 7.
Prior to this, the movie had its world premiere at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival in August, where it received a 14-minute standing ovation from the audience.
