Multiple biopics focusing on each member of The Beatles are set to arrive in 2028 — but not everyone was thrilled with how their story was being told.

Ringo Starr, 84, recently opened up about the films, particularly the one centered on his life. In April, the legendary drummer flew to London to meet with director Sam Mendes to discuss the ambitious projects, which will cover the lives of all four Beatles members.

After reading through the script, Starr had plenty of feedback — especially when it came to making his story as authentic as possible.

One sticking point? The way his relationship with his first wife, Maureen Starkey Tigrett, was portrayed.

"He had a writer — very good writer, great reputation, and he wrote it great, but it had nothing to do with Maureen and I," Starr told The New York Times on Wednesday, July 2. "That's not how we were. I'd say, 'We would never do that.'"

Following a few rewrites and a new creative direction, Starr says he's feeling better about how the film is shaping up. Still, he admits to having some reservations — especially about Mendes' decision to film all four biopics simultaneously.

"Still not sure how Mendes is going to shoot four films at once," Starr said. "But he'll do what he's doing, and I'll send him peace and love."

As for who's playing the iconic drummer, Saltburn star Barry Keoghan has been cast for the role — and he's already feeling the pressure.

"I'm looking for the little nuances, without making him feel that I'm observing for that reason," Keoghan told Entertainment Tonight, referring to studying Starr's mannerisms.

Starr seems quite supportive of the casting, telling the same outlet, "Well, I think it's great. I believe he's somewhere taking drum lessons, and I hope not too many."

However, not everyone is convinced of Keoghan. Zak Starkey, Ringo's son and drummer for The Who, shared his skepticism about the casting.

"Get a big rubber nose. I don't know what else to say. He doesn't look anything like my dad, does he? You can fix anything, can't you? You can certainly give someone a big rubber nose," Starkey said to NME on Thursday, June 26.

"The thing about my dad is his personality. He sold the Beatles to America, he's the one with the charisma. Pulling that off will be hard. He's just himself," he added.

When it comes to the musical side of the role, Zak isn't so sure Keoghan can pull it off.

"That's f–king impossible. Nobody can play like my dad. Good luck to him, but he'll be the first guy who can pull it off," he said. "My dad's unique—the greatest rock 'n' roll drummer in the world, still. He's better now than he was then."
