Val Kilmer's family suffered a horrific tragedy when he was just 17 years old which inspired one of his acting roles. Top Gun star Val's death was announced on Wednesday mornng. The actor died age 65 from pneumonia following a long health battle in a statement from his daughter. But alongside his glittering career, Val suffered health issues and was left with the emotional scars of losing his brother who was just aged 15.
