The Punta Cana hotel where missing University of Pittsburgh student Sudiksha Konanki vanished last week issued a shocking statement, distancing themselves from the disaster and insisting they are fully operational. Riu Hotels & Resorts released a statement Wednesday in which it stressed that incidents at its the in Punta Cana hotel were 'completely unrelated' to the student's disappearance. It came after widespread complaints of power outages at the resort. While police continue to search for Sudiksha, the hotel is open and busy.
