President Biden will leave office in one week having cancelled student loan debt for at least five million borrowers over four years. But the effort is a far cry from the relief he pushed for more than 40 million borrowers while in office as his biggest student loan debt proposals were blocked in court or continue to face legal hurdles. 'I'm proud to say we have forgiven more student loan debt than any other administration in history,' President Biden said in a statement on Monday.
