'Pure evil' California man who killed girl, 16, for getting him expelled from school learns fate
A California man convicted of murdering his childhood friend and classmate who got him expelled from school has been sentenced to life behind bars. Owen Skyler Shover, 23, was found guilty in August of killing his Moreno Valley High School classmate Aranda Briones, 16, in 2019. The two were expelled from school in February 2018 after police caught Briones with a gun she said belonged to Shover, according to District Attorney Mike Hestrin's trial brief obtained by KESQ.
