Alan Shearer has defended Match of the Day after Jeff Stelling blasted the BBC for a 'terrible production choice' on Saturday night time's show.
Former Sky Sports anchor Stelling, who hosts his personal show on talkSPORT, was left fuming over how Match of the Day coated Newcastle's win over West Ham.
Eddie Howe's aspect beat the Hammers Four-3 in a seven-goal thriller which additionally saw Anthony Gordon sent off in a Premier League match full of incidents.
Newcastle hero Shearer is a daily pundit on Match of the Day alongside Arsenal legend Ian Wright, while the show is often introduced by Gary Lineker.
But the newest MOTD episode was hosted by Alex Scott, who was joined by pundits Martin Keown and Stephen Warnock as an alternative.
Stelling took challenge with the trio failing to analyse Newcastle's second penalty, scored by Alexander Isak after Kalvin Phillips' foul on Gordon.
'Fascinating that MotD determined the second Newcastle pen was not value discussing despite it being prob probably the most controversial determination of the weekend,' Stelling posted on social media.

Shearer has now responded to Stelling's feedback as he posted: 'Morning Jeff. My guess is that they didn't show it because it was a certain penalty and as you already know time is restricted on the present! Hope all is nicely.'
Stelling made headlines initially of the week with his brutal criticism of Arsenal star Ben White whereas he also tipped Manchester United to sign Jarrad Branthwaite this summer time.
