Bayer Leverkusen's sporting director Simon Rolfes is 'calm' and 'optimistic' that head coach Xabi Alonso will snub jobs at Liverpool and Bayern Munich.
Alonso is believed to be Liverpool's No.1 managerial target to exchange Jurgen Klopp, who will depart Anfield on the finish of the season.
Bayern Munich have also made Alonso a top target as they seek a successor to Thomas Tuchel for the 2024-25 campaign.
Alonso has links to each Liverpool and Bayern Munich – having played for the two teams earlier than getting into the world of administration.
The 42-year-old is among the most sought-after managers in world soccer having massively impressed at Bayer Leverkusen, who are prime of the Bundesliga.
Bayer Leverkusen's sporting director Rolfes, though, remains hopeful that Alonso won't be tempted by Liverpool or Bayern Munich in the summertime.

'I remain calm and optimistic,' Rolfes advised the Frankfurter Rundschau. 'Crucial factor for managers is that they really feel snug and have the sensation that they're in the appropriate place.
'Xabi knows what he has on the club. He has stated that many occasions. That is how he works together with his group and his coaching workforce day by day.'
Quizzed instantly about Liverpool opening talks with Alonso's agent, Rolfes added: 'There are lots of subjunctives on the earth. Not everyone has to enter.'
