Tech's potential super regional matchup is most intriguing here as SA has Tennessee as the No. 6 national seed, which would put the Red Raiders in Knoxville for a spot in the WCWS if both teams make it out of their respective regionals.

There's no shortage of storylines with this one. It started when former Tech head coach Craig Snider left Lubbock to become an assistant with theVolsand escalated this summer when Taylor Pannell transferred from Tennessee to Tech, which kickstarted the offseason campaign to blacklist the Red Raiders.

Search team finds body of missing U.S. soldier in Morocco 00:21

CBS News

The body of an American soldier who wentmissing while in Moroccofor an annual training exercise has been recovered, the U.S. Army announced on Sunday.

First Lieutenant Lamont Key Jr. was one of two U.S. service members who disappeared just over a week ago in waters off Morocco's southern coast, near the Cap Draa Training Area, the Armysaid in a news release.

Army officials said search operations for the second serviceman, who has not been identified, will continue. Search efforts so far have involved more than 1,000 U.S. and Moroccan military and civil personnel, according to the Army.

Both service members were taking part in African Lion, an annual training exercise, although defense officials previously told CBS News that the incident was not believed to be related to the event. A preliminary report said the two were part of a group of service members who went on a hike to watch the sunset when a soldier known to not be able to swim fell into the water. Defense officials said the second missing soldierjumped in to attempt a rescue, but was hit by a wave. Other soldiers attempted to rescue the two, but were unsuccessful.

Key's body was recovered by a Moroccan military search team at about 8:55 a.m. Saturday morning local time, the U.S. Army said. He was found along the shoreline, about a mile from where both soldiers vanished into the ocean on May 2, according to the army. It's not clear if Key was the soldier who fell or the one who reportedly jumped in.

Army officials said ongoing search efforts will focus on the location where Key's remains were recovered, while still monitoring a broader perimeter.

Key, 27, was from Richmond, Virginia, according to the Army. He served as an air defense artillery officer with the 10th Army Air and Missile Defense Command.

Key "embodied the highest standards of service as a selfless, inspirational leader whose unwavering dedication to his Soldiers and their development leaves an enduring legacy within our ranks," said Lt. Col. Chris Couch, commander of 5-4 ADAR, in the statement.

He is survived by his parents, his sister and his brother-in-law, according to the Army. His next-of-kin were notified prior to the announcement. His remains were transported to an area morgue, and plans are underway to repatriate them from Morocco to the U.S.

Brigadier Gen. Curtis King, commanding general of the 10th Army Air and Missile Defense Command, said in a statement that Key's colleagues were "grieving" and would "continue to support one another" as well as the soldier's family, "as we honor his life and service."

Key joined his battalion in 2025 and had become a platoon leader by the time he died, the Army said. He was described as caring, selfless and inspirational by leadership in his artillery regiment, and had earned various awards for his service, including the Army Achievement Medal and Army Service Ribbon.

Before joining the military in 2023, Key received a Bachelor of Science in marketing from Methodist University in North Carolina, where he also completed minors in international business, entrepreneurship and business administration, the Army said.

When is Luka Doncic coming back? Injury update for Lakers-Thunder NBA Playoffs Game 3

Luka Dončić's absence from the court will continue as he was officially ruled out Friday forGame 3 of the Western Conference semifinalsbetween theOKC Thunder and Los Angeles Lakers.

USA TODAY

The Thunder leads 2-0 as the best-of-seven series shifts to Los Angeles.

Doncic has been sidelined sinceApril 2 with a Grade 2 left hamstring strain. The superstar guard told the media Wednesday that he has started running, but he hasn't yet been cleared for full contact.

"I'm just doing everything I can," Doncic said. "Every day, I'm doing things I'm supposed to do. Obviously, I'm recovering, and now I'm working. The doctor said eight weeks at the beginning of the first MRI. So I’m just going day by day, and I feel better every day.”

Doncic received that first MRI on April 3, which was nearly five weeks ago. If the eight-week recovery timeline holds up, he'd miss the entire second-round series against OKC.

"I don't think people understand how frustrating it is," Doncic said. "All I want to do is play basketball, especially this time (of year). It's the best time to play basketball. It's very frustrating. Seeing what my team is doing, I'm very proud of them. But it's been very tough just to sit and watch them play."

Communist-run Vietnam eyes influencers, AI to spruce up propaganda, documents show

Communist-run Vietnam eyes influencers, AI to spruce up propaganda, documents show

By Phuong Nguyen and Francesco Guarascio

Reuters

HANOI, May 8 (Reuters) - Vietnam's ruling Communist Party plans to revamp its propaganda efforts by drafting in social media influencers and artificial intelligence experts while adopting new formats such as podcasts and targeted content, internal documents seen by Reuters show.

Building a network ‌of at least 1,000 influencers and 5,000 AI experts by 2030 to disseminate "positive" content is among the measures being considered by authorities in the one-party ‌Southeast Asian nation, according to a draft prepared in April.

The strategy's key aim is to "create 'ideological immunity' for the entire society against harmful, toxic and false information," the document said.

Rapid technological changes call for a new approach to spread the party's ideology among new generations, it added.

Domestic media have mentioned some aspects but Reuters is reporting the full strategy for the first time, based on the unpublished draft by the party's propaganda committee, along with additional information.

SECURITY APPARATUS IS GAINING POWER

The effort comes at a time when Vietnam's security apparatus is gaining power under party chief and president To Lam, a former head of the public security ministry who has become the country's most powerful leader in decades.

It aims to further strengthen the party's grip on ‌public narratives in Vietnam, where media freedom is consistently ranked among the world's worst, and authorities control public debate by directing news coverage and censoring social media.

Posters of dissenting views face fines or detention, while a specialised military unit combats information it deems harmful through online posts and comments.

The draft calls for at least 80% of information in the Vietnamese language online space to be positive by the end of the decade, with AI used to ensure the removal within 24 hours of at least 90% of content that infringes party guidelines.

AI toolsdeveloped by Vietnamese tech companies will help "lead social discussion" while policy will be explained more simply through formats such as podcasts, short videos and specific content for social media and targeted groups, it says.

External influencers and officials trained in digital skills will help communicate with young people and a public that ‌increasingly prefers visual content in short videos, it adds.

Vietnam is one of Facebook's largest markets globally, while millions also use other platforms, such as TikTok. By October, it had 79 million active social media user identities, or nearly 80% of the population, data provider DataReportal said.

MEDIA TOLD TO BE MORE CREATIVE

Additional party guidance from May urges more creativity by traditional state media in covering the activities of senior leaders and cites influencers as an example.

Use of influencers is also being considered to help counter market downturns, the public security ministry said in an internal proposal in March on market reforms, which Reuters reported last month.

Some have already been recruited, one influencer told Reuters, adding that ‌he had declined to join the plan in order to preserve his autonomy.

Party requests typically involve publishing approved material and posts or promoting official activities, he said.

Participants could expect perks such as sponsored trips, but not financial compensation, said the person, who sought anonymity for fear of repercussion.

In April, the Communist Youth Union's central committee invited Vietnamese influencers on a study trip to China, the latest such ‌visit in recent months, he added.

HANOI CAUTIOUS ABOUT SONG FOR TO LAM

Encouraging creativity boosts the risks of initiatives that are out of step with the party's views, however.

"My Uncle", a song released in April and dedicated to To Lam, likened him to Communist Vietnam's late founding leader Ho Chi Minh, known as Uncle Ho. The song provoked party unease.

"Uncle leads the way, enlightening the path for our nation," sang performer Du Thien, who has 850,000 Facebook followers, accompanied by video ‌of Lam meeting Chinese leader Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Soon after, state media were told not to cover "improperly oriented" cultural products that could undermine the prestige of communist leaders and ideology, people familiar with the matter said. Du Thien could not be reached for comment.

Harper's Bazaar

In 2026,the V-neckhas made a roaring comeback. While it was once considered the uniform of emo boy bands and Brooklyn hipsters, the silhouette has gotten a much-needed rebranding thanks to recent collections from the likes of Chanel, Prada, Dior, and more—where plunging sweaters and angular tops reigned supreme.

Now, here to solidify the V-neck’s resurgence is none other thanPedro Pascal, a man who shakes up the red carpet at every turn, whether it’s with a pair ofkinky, thigh-high leather bootsor apolitically-charged T-shirtthat honorshis sister.

On Thursday evening, the Emmy nominee walked the black carpet in London, at a fan event for his newStar Warsfilm,The Mandalorian and Grogu. There, Pascal wore a custom look from Chanel by Matthieu Blazy, which was styled by his frequent outfit architect,Jamie Mizrahi.

For this occasion, one V-neck just wasn’t enough; Pascal wore two tops layered on top of each other, in shades of gray and butter yellow. For a dressy finish, the actor wore a navy single-breasted blazer left hanging open to reveal his low-cut sweaters underneath, with dark-blue slacks to match.

As a wink to the color scheme of his outfit, Pascal was draped in aMedallions Long Guard Lapis & Diamond 30”necklace from Jessica McCormack, which featured Lapis Lazuli beads interspersed with white and yellow gold diamonds, perfectly tying the whole ensemble together.

Finally, he accessorized with some black eyeglasses and inky loafers, both courtesy of Chanel as well.

It seems that this spring, everyone is doubling down on all the hottest trends, whether that’sdouble belts, double shirts, and now, double V-necks.
