Isaiah Evans added 17 points and Dame Sarr scored 14 for Duke (34-2), which advanced to the Sweet 16 against the winner of No. 4 Kansas and No. 5 St. John's. Boozer added a game-high 11 rebounds while Maliq Brown finished with 12 points and nine rebounds for the Blue Devils, who outscored TCU by 19 points in the second half.

Micah Robinson led TCU (23-12) with 18 points, followed by Xavier Edmonds' 12. The Horned Frogs were outrebounded 42-25 for the game, but 24-14 during the second half.

Trailing by four at halftime, TCU opened the second half on a 6-0 run -- including Brock Harding's behind-the-back assist to Robinson -- forcing Duke's timeout with 16:11 remaining.

After Jayden Pierre's layup tied the score at 44, Cayden and Cameron Boozer each completed a 3-point play and Nikolas Khamenia laced a 3-pointer to give the Blue Devils a 53-44 lead at the 11:48 mark.

Harding's triple stopped the run, but Sarr's stepback 3-pointer gave Duke its first double-digit lead at 57-47.

TCU head coach Jamie Dixon picked up a technical foul with 8:57 left, leading to Cayden Boozer's two free throws and Sarr's third 3-pointer that opened up a 64-50 Blue Devils lead.

Cameron Boozer's dunk and subsequent layup pushed the margin to 18.

The Horned Frogs went nearly five minutes without scoring before Pierre's jumper cut Duke's lead to 70-52 with 4:58 remaining. Brown's dunk extended the lead to 22, icing the Blue Devils victory.

To a warm ovation from the Duke-heavy crowd, Patrick Ngongba II came off the bench early after a foot injury kept him out for five games. He made his first basket at the 15:29 mark of the first half, giving the Blue Devils a 9-7 lead.

TCU went ahead, 12-9, on Robinson's five straight points before Evans' triple stamped a 10-3 Duke spurt. Evans scored 11 straight for the Blue Devils, including a four-point play to give Duke a 27-22 lead.

After Brown's dunk put Duke ahead by eight, TCU trimmed its deficit to two on Tanner Toolson's corner trey with 1:12 remaining. Duke led 38-34 at halftime thanks to Evans' 13 first-half points.

After the comments began to go viral on Saturday, Skattebo took to social media to apologize for what he called a "tasteless joke" about the diseases.

It was never my intention to downplay the serious of head injuries or asthma. I sincerely apologize to anyone that was offended by my remarks, and I assure you that I'll be more mindful and respectful going forward. Much love !!" Skattebo wrote.

Skattebo made the comments during an episode of the "Bring the Juice" podcastwith Frank Delana released last week. Early in the episode, Delana asked Skattebo if he thought CTE was "a real thing."

Skattebo said he did not: "No. It's an excuse," Skattebo said.

Delana then added that he thought asthma was "an excuse too," with Skattebo agreeing.

"Is that a hot take?" Delana asked.

"No, that's a good take," Skattebo said. "Yes, asthma's fake."

"Is there anything worse than when you're in fourth grade and someone's huffin' and puffin'?" Delana continued. "You're just soft."

"Yeah, just literally breathe air," Skattebo said.

Research shows CTE is prevalent in NFL players

Years of recent research has indicated evidence of CTE in former football players, withbrain damage directly tiedto contact sports and repeated hits to the head. A2023 studyof former NFL players at the Boston University CTE Center found evidence of CTE in nearly 92% of the players.

Also, per theAsthma and Allergy Foundation of America, approximately one in 12 Americans has asthma.

CTE denials have been a slight touchpoint recently, with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers gettingduped by an apparently fake Emeka Egbuka account on X. The Buccaneers quickly denounced the account after it posted, "Is CTE even real?"

From his days at Arizona State, Skattebo has been known for his hard-nosed running style on the field (and forheadbutting the wall.) The running back's rookie seasoncame to an early end last yearafter he suffered a dislocated ankle; a few weeks later, he wasmixing it up with WWE wrestlersat "Monday Night Raw."

Skattebo's recovery has been ongoing. Hetold Rich Eisenearlier this month that he was at about 75% of his running speed, which he admitted was "not very fast." Still, he appears likely to return to the field for the Giants next season.

Skattebo rushed for 410 yards and caught 24 passes for 207 yards while totaling seven touchdowns in eights during his rookie season. He was a fourth-round draft pick of the Giants in 2025.

Im sank a 13-foot putt on the final hole to shoot 2-under-par 69 and stretch his lead to two strokes through the third round Saturday at Palm Harbor, Fla.

"It has been a while since I've been in the lead like this, and I'm sure I will be nervous," Im said. "But the best I can do is just to play my own game."

Im had gone nine holes without a birdie on Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club's Copperhead Course before sinking his last birdie attempt. He enters Sunday's final round at 11-under 202 in search of his first PGA Tour win since the 2021 Shriners Children's Open.

"I'm really thrilled about the birdie on the final hole, and to have a two-shot lead," Im said.

Brandt Snedeker posted 67 to pull into a share of second place with David Lipsky, who turned in an erratic 70.

"I'm going to enjoy my late Sunday round tomorrow and go have some fun," Snedeker said.

Snedeker's bogey-free round -- beginning with three birdies on the first four holes -- gave him a score that matched the best rounds of the day.

"Even though it looked bogey-free, it was definitely up and down," Snedeker said. "There was some struggles in the middle of the round that I was able to survive, which was nice. I finished strong, made some good swings coming down the stretch."

Lipsky moved into a share of the lead with a birdie on No. 15 before giving it back with a bogey -- his third of the back nine -- on the next hole. His round included five birdies and four bogeys.

"The short game and the putter really saved me and kept me in it," Lipsky said, planning a visit to the driving range "to try to fix for (Sunday)."

England's Marco Penge and England's Matt Fitzpatrick shot matching 68s to hold a tie for fourth place at 8 under. That's two shots clear of South Korea's S.H. Kim and Belgium's Adrien Dumont de Chassart, a duo that shared the day's best round with Snedeker.

Fitzpatrick finished a shot behind champion Cameron Young in last weekend's The Players Championship and he's back in the mix this weekend.

"The greens are so firm you can't afford to be coming out of the rough for the second shots, just because you can't control your ball," Fitzpatrick said.

Im, who hadn't led through 36 holes of a PGA Tour event since 2021, finished at 69 for the second day in a row. He saved par on No. 16 after a tee shot settled on a cart path.

Penge was at 2 over for the round after a double-bogey 6 on No. 6, but he played the backside bogey-free at 4 under.

Fitzpatrick was steadier. He fashioned nothing but pars -- save a three-hole stretch of birdies on Nos. 10-12.

Brooks Koepka looked like he might be a contender after going 3 under through eight holes of the third round. Then came a 3 over backside that included a double-bogey 6 at No. 16. He ended up with 71, putting him at 4 under for the tournament and tied for 11th place.

"Just played nicely the front side," Koepka said. "Then I don't know, I drove it terrible all day. It really cost me."

TheBuffy the Vampire Slayerstar, whodied this week at 54, had been diagnosed with cauda equina syndrome as well as a congenital heart defect.

Brendondiscussed his health challengesin a 2023 Instagram post.

"Sorry for the extra-long disappearing act," he wrote. "After two spinal surgeries and a heart attack, I've had multiple doctor appointments to juggle, and dealing with health insurance and pre-approvals feels nearly as emotionally exhausting and painful as dealing with my actual injuries."

TheCriminal Mindsactor added, "You'd think when the doctor says someone needs an urgent MRI and possibly an additional emergency surgery that the insurance company would get back to the doctor with any kind of answer at all. Right???"

Brendon needed time to rest after his surgery, "or at least as much as I'm capable of resting," he said at the time. "So I somehow ended up 'trapped' in Idyllwild-Pine Cove (California) by about 3 feet of snow and nothing but time to swing on the back porch or paint in front of the fireplace."

Cauda equina syndrome is aconditionthat occurs when a person experiences nerve dysfunction at the end of their spinal cord, according to the American Association of Neurological Surgeons. It can be caused by injuries, spinal lesions, tumors, birth abnormalities, and spinal anesthesia.

The actor underwent spinal surgery in 2021 after a fall and had another spinal surgerylater that year.

Brendon's manager, Theresa Fortier, said the actor also had a C5/C6spinal fusion surgeryin April 2025.

The actor was taken to a hospital in 2022 due to a cardiac incident, his sister announced at the time. "Nicky is doing fine now, but he had to be rushed to emergency about two weeks ago because of a cardiac incident (tachycardia/arrhythmia)," shewrotein a since-deleted Instagram post (via theLos Angeles Times).

Tachycardia is the medical term for aheart rate exceeding 100 beats per minute, according to the Mayo Clinic. It can be caused by a number of different arrhythmias, or irregular heart rhythms.

Fortier told theLos Angeles Timesat the time that the actor was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect following an additional cardiac incident.

"After a second cardiac incident two weeks ago, Brendon was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect that is more common in twins," she told the outlet in 2022 (Brendon had a twin brother, Kelly Donovan). "He is currently under the care of a cardiologist and has been focusing on painting and reducing stress."

Fortier added that Brendon's second 2021 spinal surgery resulted in cerebrospinal fluid leak that caused tachycardia at the time of his second cardiac event.

Brendon's family announced his death in asocial media poston Friday.

"We are heartbroken to share the passing of our brother and son, Nicholas Brendon. He passed in his sleep of natural causes," the family wrote. "Most people know Nicky for his work as an actor and for the characters he brought to life over the years. In recent years Nicky has found his passion in painting and art. Nicky loved to share his enthusiastic talent with his family, friends, and fans."

But in an unparalleled moment in Bachelor Nation history, fans will not see any of it after ABC cancelled the 22nd season of "The Bachelorette" just days before its scheduled Sunday, March 22 premiere.

The Disney-owned network pulled the plug due to an ongoing Utah police investigation into a "domestic assault" involving the"Secret Lives of Mormon Wives" starand her ex-partner,Dakota Mortensen, who have both leveled allegations. The season cancellation on March 19 comes after TMZ published ashocking videoshowing the 2023 violent altercation with Paul, seen yelling, hitting, kicking and throwing furniture at Mortensen while a child is heard crying.

What does the abrupt cancellation mean for ABC, the show's production company, the 22 bachelors and Paul herself? USA TODAY spoke to a legal expert to discuss the possible legal ramifications and how likely the public will be aware of it.

Could ABC sue for its money back for 'The Bachelorette'?

While the contracts between ABC and production company Warner Horizon Unscripted Television are not public knowledge, it's not out of the question that the network could file litigation to get some of its money back.

Unable to profit from the lost "Bachelorette" season, ABC may argue Warner Horizon Unscripted Television failed to properly background check Paul when casting her, if that was part of the contract, according to Ashlee Difuntorum, an attorney with the Los Angeles firm Kinsella Holley Iser Kump Steinsapir.

Paul was arrested on Feb. 17, 2023, after Mortensen called, saying she was hitting him in front of two children. In March 2025, she faced several charges, including one felony count of aggravated assault and two felony counts of domestic violence in the presence of a child and one misdemeanor count each of child abuse and criminal mischief. Paul confirmed filming for the "Bachelorette" season was completed in December.

Production companies typically have contracts with cast members, showrunners, crew and vendors that often include "broad language" requiring parties to agree not to do anything to cause reputational harm, Difuntorum told USA TODAY.

"I certainly would expect some issue between the production company and Taylor Frankie Paul there, as far as the morality clause. I don't know the actual contract here, but that's what I would expect," she said. "Because as broadly as those are written, typically, I mean, almost certainly something like this would fall within it."

Have legal battles come from a reality TV cancellation before?

The 2009 reality dating season "Megan Wants a Millionaire" was pulled after contestant Ryan Alexander Jenkins was wanted for the murder of his wife in Southern California, but died by suicide before he was arrested,Entertainment Weeklyreported.

The show's production company, 51 Minds, ended up reimbursing VH1 $12 million for the inadequate vetting of the Jenkins, who had a previous domestic‑violence conviction in Canada.

Could 'The Bachelorette' contestants sue?

Difuntorum said it's unlikely the bachelors on "The Bachelorette" Season 22 would sue over their episodes not airing, as typically reality TV contestants sign contracts where the network or production company reserves the right to not air the footage.

"Usually, contracts state pretty explicitly that it's the production company's footage, they can do whatever they want, including not ever use it," she said. "So I think it would be very rare to see an instance where a contestant could win based on suing, saying, "Hey, I thought I was going to be in this."

Could Taylor Frankie Paul sue or be sued?

Difuntorum also addressed hypothetical scenarios of litigation involving Paul, either as a plaintiff or a defendant, though there is no strong indication that either is likely.

"If she's already been paid and the production companies feel under their contract she needs to owe it back, and she doesn't want to give it back. That could be a lawsuit. … I mean, theoretically, anyone can file a lawsuit," Difuntorum said. "If she hasn't been paid yet, they refuse to pay or she thinks she should be paid, she could be the one in the plaintiff's seat, suing the production company."

However, Difuntorum, she finds it unlikely that Paul would want to be blasted in litigation at this time.

Could litigation over 'The Bachelorette' be resolved privately?

Difuntorum said it's also possible for the public not to be aware of any legal discussions surrounding the cancelled season if the disagreement is "resolved without us ever knowing."

She mentioned VH1 cancelling "Ev and Ocho" in 2012, weeks before it aired, after filming 11 episodes. The series, which chronicled the engagement between former NFL starChad "Ochocinco" Johnsonand Evelyn Lozada, was cancelled after Johnson was arrested and later sentenced to 30 days in jail for a probation violation in a domestic violence case involving Lozada.

ABC's "Welcome to the Neighborhood" was another show that was shelved before it could air. The series was cancelled in 2005, less than two weeks before its premiere, due to outrage about its premise, according toThe Spokesman-Review. The series followed diverse families vying to win a home near Austin, Texas, by impressing three White, conservative families, who decided which contestants were "fit" to live in the neighborhood.

Ultimately, no reports of litigation from the cancellation ever came from either cancellation, Difuntorum said.

Did ABC make the right call in cancelling the season?

Sarah Schmidt, a crisis management expert and president of Interdependence PR, said ABC made the right choice in pulling the plug on "The Bachelorette" Season 22, though the entire situation is still damaging financially and optically.

"Yes, they are out millions. But Disney is a family company, and The Bachelorette is a family show. If they would have stayed the course, backlash would have been swift and significant," Schmidt said in a statement to USA TODAY. "This is a show that sells fantasy, finding true love, emotional safety, and romantic possibility. Casting someone with a documented history of violence and domestic assault and frankly, poor romantic judgement, undermines that premise."

Schmidt called the entire situation a case study in what happens when franchises "prioritize controversy over credibility." She said the worst-case scenario is that this is the "beginning of the end for Bachelor Nation" but at minimum, this situation will force an overhaul in the vetting of contestants, especially leads, which "should have happened years ago."

"This is a classic case of desperation casting gone wrong," Schmid said. "In this case, they chose to land a buzzy reality star. On the one hand, it's a calculated risk. On the other hand, they gambled with the brand's credibility."

During a recent appearance onThe Drew Barrymore Show, he shared a surprising childhood story that shaped his creative path.

"So my uncle was anElvis [Presley]impersonator," the 45-year-old actortold Barrymore. "When I was 8, I came home one day from school, and he was bedazzling a white jumpsuit in the living room with a big eagle on the back, and I said, 'What are you doing?' And he said, 'I'm gonna be Elvis for a little while.' And he was."

"He started talking like Elvis, singing like Elvis, doing karate in the backyard," Gosling added.

Gosling explained that watching his uncle fully embody the King of Rock introduced him to the concept of method acting at a young age. He said he remains "so grateful to him," adding that the experience ultimately "changed our lives."

Growing up in a small town in Ontario, Canada, Gosling's uncle's performances became a local sensation, drawing crowds who were eager to watch.

"You know, everybody in our town would come to see him perform at the mall," he recalled. "Everyone felt like they were seeing Elvis, you know, people would... they would put on a talent show in order to, like, supplement the show."

"And so, you know, like, the guy that works at the A&P is suddenly, like, doing a version of 'Black Velvet' that would knock your socks off."

That environment left a lasting impression on young Gosling, giving him what he described as a "liberating experience." At the time, he realized that performance allowed people to step into their truest selves, saying, "You realize everyone has a talent… when they get on stage, it's kind of who they really are."

When his uncle stopped performing, Gosling and his sister decided to keep the spirit alive because it was "really fun." That decision led him to an unusual gig for a child — singing at weddings.

"I would get 20 bucks to sing 'When a Man Loves a Woman' to the bride, during the garter ceremony," Gosling laughed. "Like…who thought it was a good idea to bring an 8-year-old to the garter ceremony?"

"I would get on my knees and sing to her ... and I was like, 'Where's my 20 bucks?"

In the Middle East, US embassies remain under threat while some Gulf states continue to intercept missiles and drones. Iran unsuccessfully targeted a joint US-UK military base in the Indian Ocean with ballistic missiles, a source told CNN. Israel on Saturday launched a fresh wave of strikes on Beirut and "regime targets" in Tehran.

As fighting continues across multiple fronts in the region, the human toll of the conflict continues to rise, with Iran and Lebanon marking mass casualties and displacement.

What are the main headlines?

• Sanctions removed: The Trump administration granted a temporary license on Friday night allowing Iran to sell 140 million barrels of oil sitting on tankers - enough to satisfy global demand for roughly a day and a half, according to the US Energy Information Administration.

• Military efforts: Trump said the US is considering "winding down" military efforts in the Middle East in a social media post Friday, though a senior Iranian source told CNN there has been no "reduction in military activity" in the region. Earlier that day, Trump told reporters that he believes the US has "won" its war with Iran. But thousands more US Marines and sailors are heading towards the Middle East.

• Casualties rise: In Iran, more than 18,000 civilians have been injured and more than 1,330 people – including at least 200 children – have been killed since the start of the war, according to the latest figures from the Iranian Red Crescent and Iran's UN Ambassador. In Lebanon, more than 1,000 people have lost their lives, according to the country's health ministry, and more than 1 million have been displaced.

What's happening on the ground?

• Indian Ocean: Iran launched intermediate-range ballistic missiles at Diego Garcia, a joint US-UK military base, Friday morning local time, according to a US official. The missiles were fired at the facility – a key airfield for the US' heavy bomber fleet in the Indian Ocean, and around 2,370 miles from Iran's coast - but neither of them struck the base, the official said.

• In Iraq: Iran claimed it targeted the United States Embassy's logistics base in Baghdad three times on Friday, according to state broadcaster IRIB. The embassy has faced multiple rocket and drone attacks since the war began.

• UAE warned: Tehran has issued a warning to the United Arab Emirates that it will strike the port city Ras al-Khaimah if Iranian islands in the Gulf continue to come under attack.

• More from the Gulf: Countries including Kuwait and Saudi Arabia continued to intercept missile and drone strikes overnight into Saturday, according to local defense officials.

• Israel and Lebanon: The Israeli military said early Saturday that Iran launched more missiles towards its territory. It also reported striking the Iran-backed Hezbollah targets in Beirut overnight.

• Russian support: Russian President Vladimir Putin has told Iran that Moscow remains "a loyal friend and reliable partner to Iran during this difficult period." CNN reported earlier this month that Russia is helping Iran with advanced drone tactics to hit US and Gulf nation targets in the Middle East, according to a Western intelligence official.

• Natanz nuclear facility targeted: Iran state media Tasnim reported that the US and Israel struck the Natanz uranium-enrichment facility on Saturday, adding that no radioactive leaks occurred and that residents near the site were not at risk. The Israeli military told CNN it was "not familiar" with any attack on that facility.
