The"Hot Girl Summer" rapper, 31, is set to make her Broadway debut in "Moulin Rouge! The Musical," joining the stage show for a limited eight-week engagement from March 24 through May 17.

The Grammy winner will star as nightclub impresario Zidler, and the production noted she will become the first female-identifying performer to play the role. In a statement, Megan Thee Stallion said it's an "absolute honor" to join "Moulin Rouge" and noted it will be a new creative challenge for her.

"I've always believed in pushing myself creatively and theater is definitely a new opportunity that I'm excited to embrace," she said. "Broadway demands a different level of discipline, preparation and storytelling, but I'm up for the challenge and can't wait for the Hotties to see a new side of me."

Based on the jukebox musical film of the same name, "Moulin Rouge!" has won 10 Tony Awards, including best musical, best lead actor in a musical for Aaron Tveit and best featured actor in a musical for Danny Burstein, who played Harold Zidler.

Producer Carmen Pavlovic said Thursday it's a "thrilling moment" to welcome Megan Thee Stallion, a "true global superstar," into the production and teased that there will be a "hint" of some of the rapper's own music in the show.

And yes, there will be a hint of music from her own iconic catalogue. It's an unmissable moment for both Megan's fans and ours."

Megan Thee Stallion has had a limited number of acting roles during her career, previously starring in the comedy film "Dicks: The Musical" and making cameos as herself in the movie "Mean Girls" and Marvel show "She-Hulk: Attorney at Law."

On Feb. 26, Princess Kate, 44, tried her hand at a few rounds of rock, paper, scissors with children during her visit to Powys.

As seen in a video shared toXby Emily Ferguson of theDaily Express, the Princess of Wales eagerly played the children's classic with two young boys during a walkabout in the downpour.

"Let's do it again. Rock, paper, scissors, shoot. Aw!" Princess Kate expertly said, as the first young boy's "paper" gesture topped the "rock" she made with her hand.

The royal mom of three then turned to the second youngster, and they played three speedy rounds, before his "rock" beat her "scissors."

The game in the rain brought a smile to Kate's face, and she seemed to congratulate the second winner. She then waved to a little girl who held a drawing of the Welsh flag and said, "Nice to meet you."

The Princess of Wales, who is nicknamed the Children's Princess for her warm way with kids, has three children of her own at home:Prince George, 12,Princess Charlotte, 10, andPrince Louis, 7.

Her game play at the walkabout wasn't her only cute interaction with kids on Thursday. Anothervideoshowed Princess Kate giving three big hugs and a few handshakes to a group of little girls holding Welsh flags — a few who bounced with excitement to meet the princess.

She also accepted a necklace from a young girl at the Oriel Davies art gallery, graciously letting the child help fasten the handmade creation!

Powys is the county with the most volunteers per capita in the U.K. and William and Kate visited to celebrate community ahead of St. David's Day, the national holiday, on March 1.

The Prince and Princess of Wales poignantly pinned on daffodil pins in homage to the upcoming St. David's Day, when daffodils (Wales' national flower) or leeks (St. David's personal symbol) are traditionally worn as a symbol of Welsh pride.

William and Kate have a strong connection to Wales, living there as newlyweds and after the birth of Prince George. Following the death ofQueen Elizabethin September 2022,King Charlesannounced that his eldest son and daughter-in-law were now thePrince and Princess of Wales, bestowing William with the highly prestigious title reserved for the male heir to the throne.

U.S. District Court Judge Richard J. Leon's ruling comes after the National Trust for Historic Preservationfiled a lawsuitin December against Trump and several federal agencies asking to stop construction on the90,000-square-foot ballroom. The non-profitgroup argued that Trump should have sought Congress' authorization prior to the demolition of the East Wing.

The judge said the group did not sufficiently prove the president was exceeding his powers. Rather, it based its challenge "on a ragtag group of theories" under federal law and the Constitution. Still, he said the court would consider additional efforts if the group decides to amend its complaint.

Leon had predicted last month that his verdict wouldn't be the end of the saga.

"I know it will be appealed. Whichever side wins, the other side will appeal," Leon said. "So this case is going to go to the DC Circuit, for certain, and, maybe, perhaps even to theSupreme Court. Who knows?"

On Feb. 19, the Commission of Fine Arts, a panel whose members were all appointed byTrumplast month, unanimously approved a plan for a90,000-square-foot White House ballroom, clearing one of the hurdles on the controversial project.

And on March 5, the National Commission on Capital Planning (NCPC), the central planning agency of the federal government, is holding a public hearing. The 12-member commission, the majority of whom are Trump-appointed allies, will also vote on the project on the same day.

The White House announced the construction in July and by October had launched asudden and complete clearingof the East Wing to make way for the ballroom, sparking concern from critics,preservationistsand a few former residents, including former first ladiesMichelle Obama and Hillary Clinton.

During a hearing last month, Leon questioned whether the president has the authority to level the East Wing and construct the ballroom using a deliberately complicated funding setup with private money while avoiding congressional authorization.

Trump's team countered in court that the president did not need approval from lawmakers because the project is not using taxpayer dollars and instead is being funded by private donation.

Democratic lawmakers have raised alarm about accepting funds from companies with business before the federal government.

"Trump's gold-encrusted ballroom has become a vehicle for corruption," said Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Massachusetts. Donors include Palantir, Lockheed Martin and Meta, according to a a list provided by the White House. The Trust for the National Mall, a nonprofit organization, is managing the $400 million in donations for the project.

At 90,000 square feet of new construction, Trump's project "will overwhelm the White House itself," which is 55,000 square feet, said National Trust for Historic Preservation CEO Carol Quillen, adding: "(The addition) may also permanently disrupt the carefully balanced classical design of the White House with its two smaller, and lower, East and West Wings."

Trump's project has gone through various changes since the White House first announced its plans in July, includingfinancing, seating capacity and cost.The price tag jumped from $200 million to $400 million, and the ballroom is now expected toaccommodate 1,000 people.

The NCPC earlier this month posted new renderings of the East Wing submitted by the architect Shalom Baranes. The renderings, which showed an imposing new East Wing roughly a city block long, would be longer than the West Wing and almost completely obfuscating the view of the Treasury Building from the White House's South Lawn.
