Portland's Vit Krejci was trying to get in front of Phoenix's Miles Bridges and draw a foul in transition, they collided, and Krejci went to the ground grabbing his left ankle.
After the game, Trail Blazers coach Micah Nori said Krejci suffered a fracture. After the game, Krejci had his foot in a boot and was on crutches as he left the arena, reports Sean Highkin of the Rose Garden Report .
Nori didn't provide details such as which bone was fractured or whether it is in his lower leg or ankle (the team will likely announce that in the next couple of days). Wherever the fracture is, Krejci almost certainly will miss extended time. How much depends on the bone fractured, the severity and the course of treatment, such as whether it requires surgery.
Portland acquired Krejci at last year's trade deadline and with the team the 6'8" guard averaged 7.2 points averaging 19 minutes a night through the end of last season. However, with the Trail Blazers getting Damian Lillard healthy and adding Ja Morant this season, Krejci's role shrank, and he is averaging 2.7 points per game in 10 minutes a night.
Krejci becomes the third Trail Blazers guard out injured for a considerable stretch, joining Morant (hamstring) and Shaedon Sharp (knee).
