Save this story Save Story Save this story Buying flowers is nice. Booking a restaurant is good, too. But if you really, really like someone, Alexander Skarsgård has a suggestion: get their face printed on your shirt.
Last night, at the Los Angeles premiere of Wicker , the actor pulled up with a photo of Oscar winner Olivia Colman across his chest. In the film, she plays a fisherwoman who gets a husband made out of wicker (that's Skarsgård). But apparently, being handcrafted specifically for someone isn't enough anymore—you also have to wear their merch.
Skarsgård—who has been working with Harry Lambert , the longtime stylist of Harry Styles—was wearing a custom look by the London-based brand Chopova Lowena. Printed on the beaded jersey was a portrait of Colman as the fisherwoman, with little spiky embellishments framing her face. It was quite sweet, actually. The sorta thing your mom might have on the mantelpiece, only that in this case, it was stretched across a six-foot-something Swedish man.
He wore it with the brand's signature taffeta midi skirt in green and pink tartan, complete with pleats and silver carabiners. Plus, black socks. Black shoes. An Oscar-winning actress on his torso. And to think that getting dressed for a red carpet used to involve calling someone about a tux .

And look, this does make the rest of us seem a bit lazy. There are guys out there who won't even put their girlfriend on their main grid. Skarsgård has put his on-screen wife right there on his chest—with beading! Your anniversary Instagram story with the tiny heart in the corner is looking a little half-assed now, isn't it?
Imagine going for dinner with someone wearing this. You're sitting opposite them, trying to work out what you want, and there you are again, just below the bread basket. They take their jacket off. More you. The waiter comes over and immediately knows who's paying. (There would also be the question of which photograph was chosen, because “I had a top made with your face on it” is lovely, in theory. “I had a top made with that picture of you that you've asked me to delete six times” is a very different evening.)
For Skarsgård, though, it helps that Colman was right there beside him, looking very pleased with the whole thing. Which is probably the response you'd want after going to all that trouble. Especially if the top's custom. You're not getting a refund on Olivia.
