Two months before his untimely death, Malcolm-Jamal Warner spoke at length about how he hoped to be remembered after his passing.

In an eerily prescient interview on Melyssa Ford's Hot and Bothered podcast in May, the Cosby Show alum — who accidentally drowned in a riptide while in Costa Rica on Sunday — discussed the "legacy" he wanted to leave behind after he was gone.

In a clip from the May 21 sit-down (which has since gone viral in the wake of Warner's death), the Resident actor and Ford were discussing the death of Bill Cosby's real-life son, Ennis Cosby, a close friend of Warner's who was killed in 1997. (Warner famously portrayed Theo Huxtable, Cosby's TV show son, on all eight seasons of The Cosby Show.)

Ford then broached the topic of Warner's own idea of legacy by stating, "Life is fragile, and in the blink of an eye ... you never know," she said, snapping her fingers.

"You never know," Warner agreed, shaking his head.

"Speaking of legacy," the podcast host continued, "What do you hope your legacy is going to be?"

"I mean, because I'm 54. I think about that a lot," Warner admitted, adding that he knows he will forever be remembered as Theo Huxtable. "It's interesting," he continued. "I remember my mother said to me one time that 'Mr. Cosby gave you immortality.'"

But as for his own personal legacy, Warner knew that "there is part of me that I will be able to leave this earth ... knowing and people knowing that I was a good person," he explained. "I talked to my dad, I talked to him yesterday and he said to me often, 'You know, people love you and people always talking about, you know, your career and your success and all of that.' He said, 'But what really makes me the most proud is that you are a good person.'"

Just two months later, on Sunday, July 20, Warner died at age 54 after being caught up in a riptide while on vacation in Costa Rica with his family.
