Arsenal's Jurrien Timber has stepped up his return in the direction of full training from a knee damage that has stored him out for almost your complete season thus far.

The Dutch defender signed for the Gunners from Ajax over the summer time and made his debut towards Nottingham Forest on the opening day of the Premier League season, but that has been his only look up to now.

The 22-year-old limped out of the match at the Emirates after struggling an ACL damage, with the serious knee drawback maintaining him sidelined ever since.

Nevertheless, there's hope that he'll return to the pitch before the top of the season having returned to coaching together with his teammates.

The Netherlands international isn't back in full training just yet, but is not engaged on his own and has been in contract training with the rest of the squad.

There's still an opportunity that he might play an element this season, with Mikel Arteta hopeful that his recovery continues to go to plan.

'I really hope so, he's doing rather well,' stated Arteta on the potential return for Timber this season. 'He's been around some players on the pitch and we're going to start to do some bits with us within the next week or so.

'Then we need to see how that evolves, his confidence ranges, his fitness ranges and hopefully then the reply is "yes".'

Arsenal's fitness considerations are near clearing up, with Oleksandr Zinchenko and Thomas Partey anticipated to be obtainable after damage in the subsequent outing towards Sheffield United on Monday.

There is also a chance that Takehiro Tomiyasu could make a surprisingly early return from injury against the Blades.
